I stayed here for nearly two months while in town for work. Eileen and Mike were great hosts, and the suite was clean and comfortable -- a nice place to come back to after both a day of work and a weekend downtown. Can't complain about the fresh baked goods, either!

Great communication, understanding, and willingness to accommodate our travel arrangements. Even though we arrived late (after 11pm on a Friday night), they still answered the door and personally greet us when we checked in. Great host and would definitely go back when in the DC area!!!

Mike and Eileen: wonderful, generous and helpful hosts who made my friends trip extra special - especially during the tropical storm situation! Breakfasts were delicious and creative, the fresh fruit was much appreciated. My friends enjoyed the warm welcoming atmosphere and the additional assistance. thank you.

Eileen and Mike were great hosts. We enjoyed staying with them very much. They made us feel very welcome and we were able to enjoy a delicious homemade breakfast every morning. They were so helpful at showing us where the best place to park to catch the metro and some of the best places to eat out. We would most definitely stay with them again if we vist DC in the future.

If you don't want to stay in DC with all the hustle and bustle, I would recommend Mike and Eileen's house. It is in a very quiet neighborhood where you almost forget you are in a large city. It is well worth the price. The breakfasts are amazing. Fresh fruit, meat, eggs, pancakes, french toast, and more! Better than any "free" hotel breakfast. If you decide to stay here, there are a few things you should know. First, the Greenacres Suite is in a basement and it feels like so. It is nicely decorated but there are a few bugs, and it feels like a basement. Also, the traffic in DC is terrible. I would suggest taking the metro into the city or else you will be driving 40+ minutes each way. However, the closest metro is a little over 3 miles but it takes 20-25 minutes to get there. Only on the weekend were we able to make it there in less time. The metro ride was another 30 minutes. So we were spending nearly 2 hours a day in a car or metro. All that aside, it is well worth the price and the hosts are very nice. I personally, will next time pay a little more and stay in the city at a Bed and Breakfast. This will save all the driving to and from the metro, and all the cost of the metro. Riding the metro in the city is not that expensive but from Silver Spring will cost $8+ a day per person.

We had such a wonderful time in Washington DC. Eileen and Mike were so friendly and made us feel so welcome. The breakfasts were delicious! We so appreciated the rides to the Metro in the Mornings- we had great talks on our way there. Their home and the area around was beautiful! We so appreciated them sharing their home. We felt like it was a great value for our money!

It was a real pleasure to stay with Mike and Eileen during our trip. Very quiet and kind place! I'm sure I could advice it for my friends and hope to turn back here on my next vacation. Mike and Eileen thank you a lot for your accommodation! Regards, Georgii.

FEEDBACK POSITIVE Our positive interaction with Eileen and Mike started even before we booked when they promptly responded to our inquiry whether there was room for 5 (there was). After booking and prior to arrival there was also good interaction via email, so we came very well prepared, and Eileen and Mike also knew our wants/needs. The suite was very clean and tidy. TV with 100's of channels and a great fireplace. Exercise equipment we were welcome to use. Pleasant wooded surroundings. Safeway close by. The breakfasts were great - varied, healthy, delicious and on time. Eileen and Mike gave us helpful information at the beginning, such as a Safeway discount card, but were otherwise not "in our hair" at all. We were here for 5 nights and it was pleasant the entire time. We would gladly stay here again, and would recommend this both to people who just need a place to crash in the D.C. area as well as to people who have never been to D.C. and would like some local guidance. Yours Truly, Christine Brincker

My first experience with Roomarama coincided with my first visit to Washington, D.C. for the historic 9/12 march on Washington. I needed a place to stay, and I had lost any affection that I have had with ‘traditional’ hotels…so I searched the net for an alternative, and I found Roomarama. It was a fortuitous find. Once I registered at the site, the staff at Roomarama called me personally and appeared to be genuinely interested in helping me find a suitable bed and breakfast to spend my week in D.C. They were very helpful, and the price was right…much less than a traditional hotel. My hosts, Mike and Eileen, were engaging and cordial hosts, and an EXCELLENT breakfast was on the table every morning. They went out of their way to ensure that I was comfortable, and the accommodations were better than first class, they were ‘home’. I found Mike to have a keen, but subtle sense of humor, founded upon a world class education. Eileen was a powerhouse of energy, up early, wide open all day, and not slowing down till the sand man summoned. More than just hosts, I felt that they were friends. All in all, my experience in D.C. was enhanced by using Roomarama, and Mike and Eileen were an important factor in this experience. I look forward to doing business with Roomarama again.
