There is a new bed and the room was just freshly painted. After you read this, please check out my BEST WESTON listing for pictures of the building, courtyard and awesome roof deck!
This is for private use of the master bedroom (approx 18 x 14) in a 2 BR (occasionally 3 BR) apt in the East Village which is perfect for a single or couple, who want to stay in a clean apartment and experience living in a great neighborhood in NYC. All while saving a few bucks from pricey NYC hotels that are usually located in tourist trap areas. It's very clean and has things no hotel can offer, like the outdoor patio right outside the bedroom! The building also has a 24 hour doorman / security, gym, laundry room and killer roof deck with views of ALL NYC and bridges.
This option is a shared space with myself (separate bedroom) and occasionally another traveler(s) if the 3rd bedroom is occupied by other travelers choosing the West Inn listing. This neighborhood is very lively after the sun goes down. There are about 100 restaurants, bars and shops all within 3 blocks in any direction! This city never sleeps and you shouldn't be sleeping your vacation away!
I'm the type to vacate the premises when guests are here and usually just come home to sleep or do some computer work. I work, play and stay on Long Island frequently. If there is another traveler in the 3rd bedroom, they can be different for each time. But on average, everybody is always out touristing!
The price is $ 115/night (if your stay is less than 4 nights, it's $125 per night on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. If your stay is 7+ nights, it's $ 700 per week. There is also a $ 25 cleaning charge. If your stay is 10+ days, you will be required to pay $ 25 to house cleaner who will come after 7 days.
If you're the physical type, there is a gym (free) for your use in the basement of the building as well as a laundry room (coin operated), vending machines and ATM as well.
This does NOT have a full kitchen. There is a small fridge, microwave, and hot plate to do a little cooking/heating up food.
This neighborhood is very lively after the sun goes down. The East Village has been heavily built up over the last 5 years and located in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Manhattan. The East Village offers a variety of restaurants, cafes, bars and a beautiful park. You can walk to Indian, Russian, Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Vegetarian and American restaurants within a 5 block radius. If you're too tired and beat up from touring NYC and don't feel like going anywhere, you can simply order in and have anything delivered to the room (usually until 11 pm or midnight). And these little privately owned restaurants are MUCH better than midtown/tourist-trap food chain places. There are at least three 24/hr places to eat within 1 block. This building is one of only a few in the neighborhood that has a doorman and an elevator. About 95% of the buildings in the area are walk-ups. Your "home away from home" will provide the NYC experience not soon forgotten: the spectacular panoramic view of NYC on the roof deck (elevator and outdoor furniture up there), a private outdoor patio with table and chairs, huge courtyard in middle of complex, about 100 restaurant/bars/cafes/shops within a 3 block radius and probably 500 within a 10 block radius. Enjoy a beautiful park (Tompkins Square) at the end of the block and an East River waterfront park about 4 streets/blocks to the east.
For an additional fee, I can act as chauffeur to pick-up/drop off @ airport, take you to attractions in NYC, on Long Island, Catskills, Hamptons, etc.). I can serve as your personal tour guide to all the tourist attractions, as well as to the cool, not-in-the-guide-books places for nightlife or dinner.

Staying at Bruces place was my first experience with renting a private room. And a very positive one. When I travel to NYC again I will stay there again. Bruce and Cyndi are exactly what I like-very professional (immadiatelly answering mail, giving information), and at the same time relaxed people with whom you feel you already know them. The place was clean, everything needed at hand, me and my son felt really welcomed there. I will recommend the place to my friends too.

Thank you so much Bruce and Cindy for making our stay in NYC so wonderful. The appartment was clean, comfortable and we were made to feel like it was our home too. We would highly recommend staying with Bruce and Cindy. We loved the location and just soaked up the Village atmosphere. We can't wait to come back and stay there again hopefully next year...

Our visit to this apartment was incredible. Bruce communicated with us before we got there, and waited for us at the reception area. Being in this apartment felt like home. The energy in this place is so wonderful, and it is very clean and peaceful. Our host was always there whenever we needed him, and so was his girlfriend. I am happy to have spent a few nights, wishing it could have been longer. I am certain about considering to rent from Bruce whenever I visit NYC. We appreciate your hospitality so much, Bruce. Stay blessed.

Bruce was a fantastic host, greeting us with a smile at 2am when we arrived after our flight was late leaving Australia. He's friendly, helpful and respected our privacy and his home is lovely, centrally located and clean. We would definitely say there again:)

Just got back from 9day holiday staying here. Great location in the East Village, close to subway, but so easy to walk to most places (LES, Soho, Noho) from here. Bruce is a great host, plenty of good tips for the area / info / places to eat, and always happy to help / answer questions, and a damn nice chap as well!! Would highly recommend. Leighton and Lucy

We had an excellent stay at West Inn 2 in the East Village. The room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable with plenty of linens and towels. Being located only a few blocks from our son's apartment, it was just what we needed. We'll definitely try Roomorama again.

This apartment is awesome! great location in the East Village - couldn't ask for a better spot really. And having a courtyard is a bonus. You don;t miss the kitchen because you don't come to new york to cook and there is so much amazing food on your doorstep you'd be crazy to think you could do it better at home.

The stay at Bruce's was very enjoyable, location is ideal in a pleasant neighbourhood not too far from the buzz on the LES but also not too noisy at night, apartment block is clean and safe and the room is very spacious and neatly kept. On top of all that the host also saw to the availability of breakfast choices and was very helpful and hospitable on the whole; would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for reasonable accommodation in the city!

Bruce was a great host! We pretty much had the whole downstairs of the apt to ourselves. Very clean and safe. Loved the neighborhood. Felt right at home and would definitely stay again! My friend and I are already planning our next trip!
